Manyu Women Association (MOHWA) Canada

Empowering Women. Building Families.

MOWHA supports Manyu diaspora women and families through structured professional mentorship, cultural preservation, and community-led uplift across Canada.

Our Services
At Manyu Women Association (MOHWA) Canada, we provide programs and services that empower women, strengthen families, and promote healthy, inclusive communities. Our key areas of service include:

  • Social Inclusion and Community Support – Creating welcoming spaces that foster belonging, connection, cultural identity, and mutual support.

  • Education and Literacy – Promoting lifelong learning through educational programs, literacy initiatives, mentorship, and leadership development.

  • Employment and Economic Empowerment – Supporting career development, job readiness, entrepreneurship, skills training, and improved working conditions.

  • Income Security and Social Protection – Connecting women and families with resources, financial literacy, community assistance, and social support programs.

  • Community Spaces and Engagement – Providing safe, inclusive environments where members can learn, collaborate, celebrate culture, and participate in community life.

    Our Projects
    Sickle Cell Awareness and Support

We raise awareness about sickle cell disease, provide educational resources, promote early screening, and support individuals and families affected by the condition through advocacy, partnerships, and community outreach.

Girls' Menstrual Health and Sanitary Drive

We promote menstrual health, dignity, and education by providing sanitary products to girls and young women, raising awareness about menstrual hygiene, and helping remove barriers that prevent girls from fully participating in school and community life.

Future projects

As MOHWA Canada grows, we intend to expand to initiatives such as:

  • Women's Leadership and Mentorship Program

  • Youth Empowerment Initiative

  • Newcomer Settlement and Integration Support

  • Mental Health and Wellness Program

  • Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Workshops

  • Cultural Heritage and Language Preservation

  • Scholarships and Educational Assistance

  • Community Health and Wellness Outreach

  • Domestic Violence Awareness and Support

  • Annual Manyu Cultural Festival

These project areas align well with your organization's mission and would present MOHWA Canada as a comprehensive, community-focused nonprofit serving women, girls, and families across Canada.

Guiding Our Legacy, Empowering Our Future

At MOHWA Global Canada, our mission is powered by the strength, unity, and resilience of Manyu women. However, carrying our rich cultural heritage forward while thriving in the diaspora requires a strong foundation built on community, wisdom, and shared responsibility.

While MOHWA is a women-led association, we deeply value and rely on the cultural guidance, mentorship, and support of our Matrons and Patrons—esteemed community leaders, elders, and culturally inclined champions who walk alongside us.

The Role of Our Matrons & Patrons
